Waterford Circuit Court - Notice regarding Civil and Family Sittings - 11/05/2020
Monday 11th May 2020
Terms & Sittings
1827 Days ago

As and from the 18th May 2020, the Circuit Court will be in a position to sit and hear a small volume of strictly controlled business, subject to the ongoing government restrictions in place with regard to COVID-19. This will also be subject to having strict social distancing and hygiene measures in place within the Courthouse environment. The co-operation of all court users will be essential.

Her Honour Judge Doyle has directed that there will be two Circuit Courts sitting at the Courthouse at Waterford for the week of the 26 May, 2020.

Courtroom No. 1:  His Honour Judge O'Kelly will sit for the disposal of Waterford Civil Matters

Courtroom No. 4:  Her Honour Judge Doyle will sit for the disposal of Dungarvan Civil and Family Law Matters and will also deal with any urgent District Court Criminal Appeals

There will be a Call Over for the Waterford Civil Hearings of the 26 May at the Courthouse, Waterford on Wednesday next the 13 May, 2020 at 10.00 a.m. in Courtroom No. 6, before the Country Registrar.

(Legal Representatives: Hilary Delahunty of HR Delahunty Solicitors and Evan O’Neill of Newell, Gillen and Cunningham Solicitors).

There will be a Call Over for the Dungarvan List of the 26 May at the Courthouse, Waterford on Thursday next the 14 May, 2020 at 10.00 a.m. in Courtroom No. 6, before the County Registrar.

(Legal Representatives: David Burke of David Burke Solicitors and Niall McFeeley of Nolan Farrell & Goff Solicitors).

In the interest of the safety of all it has been decided that there should be no more than 2 members of the legal profession in attendance for the call over. Waterford Law Society have nominated two members to attend on each day. To ensure the smooth operation of these sittings it is important that all parties engage with each other prior to the call over to see if any consent orders can be agreed. Cases to be called on only upon the agreement of both parties and an agreed and accurate time for each case must be provided to the Court. Cases will be allocated to the Judges list based on the times provided to the County Registrar and the time slot provided in the Judges list will be as indicated during the Call Over. All relevant information should be provided to the two members that will be in attendance at the call over. To ensure the successful running of the lists compliance with the allocated time slot must be strictly observed. The Judges have indicated that they will not allow for cases to progress past the times indicated at the call over.
